Statement of Faith
The River believes that faith is lived out in relationship with God. A living and active faith cannot be easily reduced to words on a page. However, we connect with and affirm the historic statements of faith expressed by the people of God. Creeds like the Apostles' Creed connect us with the many people who have experienced life in Jesus throughout the centuries.
The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried. He descended into hell.
On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting.
