Who We Are
The River is a non-denominational Christian church in downtown Manhattan that is seeking to be...spiritually powerful, biblically thoughtful and culturally relevant. We exist to help people from ALL backgrounds connect to God and experience what Jesus described as "life in all its fullness."
We are a diverse, vibrant church set up specifically to help people in New York City connect with the Living God.
The River began in October of 2004 with a group of 10 people who moved to New York with an exciting vision to create a vibrant church in the greatest city in the world! It has since grown to a weekly attendance of more than 400 people from diverse backgrounds, experiences and professions who are learning together what it means to follow Christ.
We can think of nowhere more exciting to be than New York! Its richness and texture hold abundant opportunities for paving out an exciting spiritual journey. At the same time, we understand how difficult it can be to find a moment of stillness with God in the midst of a hectic urban lifestyle. Our goal is to create a warm and welcoming space where we can develop a genuine spirituality that makes sense for everyday living in this great city.
